I've been running into many cats in Rome.
This cat was sleeping on some ancient Roman ruins in Trajan's forum.
All of these kitties were hanging around their mom. They crossed our path a few times, so I hope
we aren't carrying around any bad luck. I wonder where they live. I wish I could take one home.
My aunt Lulu, who lived in Rome for a year, told me a story about cats in Rome.
During WWII there were many food shortages and some had to resort to eating the neighborhood cats. Because so many cats died in those years, they are now respected or at least left alone.
I think the cats get along quite well in the city even if they don't have an official home.
although I am very happy for the kitties since they are no longer eaten, I don't think I would get along with them very well. ACHOO. I want to sneeze just looking at the pictures...I would not want one of these furry feline friends to come close to me, but I think it would be fun to play cat hide and seek around the city like you did.
